I met Austin last year when he and my son were in the same class. We enjoyed talking about our shared love for silver and gemstones. Just wanted to let you know that Austin was full of laughter and curiosity, always a sparkle in the class. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless.

Perry, You're brother was such a gift! I know it's really hard right now, but I want you to know that you and your family are in our family's prayers. Even though we are heart-broken, we must remember the little things that made Austin the coolest guy he was. A few weeks ago, he helped make a pretzel trail to lure our dog Lucy back into the yard. He was so good to Lucy and made everyone's life sweet while he was with us. He looked up to you while he was on earth and will now look down on you from Heaven. Stay strong when things are falling apart, Anne (your friend and babysitter)

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Evans,

Austin spent time in my Kindergarten classroom helping my children learn and grow. He was always polite, told us some great stories and made us laugh. My class always looked forward to him coming to our room, they always asked where he was if he didn't come. He has touched our hearts and will never be forgotten. Austin was a special gift from God and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

To Austins Family, I am so deeply saddened to hear of Austins death. I knew Austin so well through his surrogate "Grampa Ted" and "Rita". They loved him so much and always enjoyed his visits and wonderful wit and wisdom for such a young boy. For years I would hear such precious "Austin stories" and he was such a light in their lives. I had the pleasure of meeting Austin several times while visiting Ted and Rita and I thought he was so precious.

I know there are no words to offer you at this time of sadness. Your grief must be consuming you. Please know that we are all thinking about you and praying for strength and grace to carry you through this horrible tragedy. May God bless your family and may the love of family and friends offer you comfort and support. I am so very sorry and sad for all of you... My love and prayers, Maggie Baucom

I was Austin's first grade teacher and was so shocked to hear about him. Austin was a great kid to talk to. Even at six years old he could tell a story to make me laugh. I remember his mom sharing that one time he was over at a friends house a few days after going to the dentist. They were having sandwiches and he was offered "Sweet Relish" he said "No, thank you. My dentist says I have to watch out for cavities and cut back on sugar." He was a good reader and it was so fun to see him get excited about an activity. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It's so very hard to understand why one so small is taken, leaving a Mom and Dad with hearts so badly aching. There are so many things in life that no one really understands. But the child you hold in your heart, God now holds in his hands. Cared for and nurtured by the Father, he will grow and mature in His love while angels guide and protect him in his Heavenly home above. They will tell him he was, oh, so special to everyone in every way, as they spend countless hours preparing for your reunion One Grand Day ! So as you gaze up into the sky, know he's now in a glorious place, and he's looking back to you searching for a smile upon your face. For I am certain that in his little heart it grieves to see you sad, for he knows he had the very best, the LOVE of his Mom and Dad !! You are in our thoughts and prayers....
