Dear Tom,Michael and John,
My heartfelt condolences to you,and your family on the loss of Maryann.
We went to Northwestern School of Continuing Education in the 1980's.
We took a Journalism class together, and immediately became friends.
She made me laugh all the time. Her smile, jokes wit and great humor
will always be with me.
We shared music, clubs and always a passion for food.
After we both married, and had kids, I never got the chance to meet you all,but every Christmas, I got your picture of your family, and saw how handsome and grown they had become.
Maryann is and will always be my buddy.
I did not know that she was ill, and feel that I will never have the chance to help or say goodbye, but her spirit and laughter will always be there.
I can find comfort there.
I will not be able to make the mass today, but please know that you are in my thoughts.
She is and was a wonderful Mom, wife and friend.
Be well,
Sincerely,
Amy Deutsch

I can still see the big smile on Maryann's face as she walked down the aisle at Holy Name to wed Tom. She had a bigger than life presence, and the world will be a much smaller place without her.

I think we were all hoping this last episode would bring her to remission; I am still in shock. We all needed hope. (I worked with Maryann through Kraft Kitchens in Madison, WI.) My prayers and heartfelt sympathy to her family while going through this difficult time.

This was such a tragedy. I am Maryann's second cousin and I feel extremely sad for her husband Tom and the two boys. Also I hope God gives my Aunt Phil and Uncle Eddy the strength to go through this. May god bless the family.

Maryann was an extremely giving person. When we worked together as Kindergarten Room Mothers, she was always there despite her responsibilities as a working mother. She raised two fine boys who are close to our children. Our family will always admire and remember her quiet courage.
