Holly, Julie, Debbie, and Mike,
We were so lucky to work for someone who really cared about our well being. Bud treated all of us like we were his own kids. He touched our lives in more ways then he would have ever known. How can you ever thank such a wonderful person? We were so lucky to have worked there. The hardware store was the neighborhood, maybe that is why Bud never left, it would have never been the same without him. Thank you all for sharing him with us.
Love,
Dori and Valerie

Truly saddened By "Buds" Passing. I got a phone call from one of my old friends who told me about it.
The funny thing is I always new him as "Bud" after looking for a longtime I finally found the Obituary. God bless the Maday family.
Heaven has to be a better place it finally has someone who knows about the hardware business.
There were none better than "BUD"
God Bless You "BUD"

Uncle Bud, I wish I would have called more and visited more. I took for granted that you'd be around forever.
Thank you for always smileing and makeing me feel welcome. Aunt Holly, thank you for caring for us when we visited. Julie, I will never forget the night you talked until I wasn't scared anymore. I remember dancing singing yummy, yummy yummy I've got love in my tummy, playing LiteBrights and eating icecream bars.
When I was 13 you all gave me a book about Helen Keller which I still have. That book was instrumental during the tough times of my life.
You are all a wonderful giving family that I'm thankful and proud to be a part of. Karen

Bud Maday was the best "back-door neighbor" you would ever have. His house building/maintenance advice was a godsend when we moved into our new but very old house. He had the most wonderful laugh, and we needed to laugh after a hard day working on our house. Bud will go down in the books as one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He was a wonderful neighbor and devoted family man who was so proud of all his children and grandchildren.
Our love goes out to the entire Maday family.

Bud was the best hardware man in the country, "hands down". Name any "widget" that you might be in need of, and not only did Bud have it in stock, he would pinpoint for you the exact configuration that you would need. He had EVERYTHING in his outstanding store.
Bud seemed to really enjoy what he did. He was clearly very, very good at it. As one of the rock-solid institutions at the corner of Canfield and Talcott, this gentelman will be missed very much.

Our prayers are with the Maday family. Bud was not only a huge asset to our nieghborhood but a friend to anyone whoever walked in to his hardware store. He was the friend behind the counter that could help you with your problem while telling you a funny story or a joke to make you laugh. He will be sorrily missed and always remebered.

We send our prayers and sincere sympathy to Bud's family. Having lived a block away from the hardware store for 35 years, we have many fond memories of doing business with Bud. He will be missed.
