ERNEST CEISEL Obituary
Ernest J. Ceisel, passed away on April 30, 2011 at the age of 88. Immigrant, Marine, stone mason, general contractor, scout leader, outdoorsman, fisherman, devout Catholic, loved patriarch. Beloved husband of the late Mary Joan Dowling Ceisel and the late Colia Ann Martin Ceisel. His celebration of life is continued by his 10 children, Mark (Karen), Stephen, Colia, Michael, Patrice (Ronald Shimizu) Ceisel, Lynn (Michael) Laethem, John (Jaikie), Alan (Anne), Beth (Patrick) O'Driscoll and David (Alexandria); and his grandchildren Amy (Marco), Mark, Johanna, Irene, Anna, John, Namrata, Larisa, Martin, Sarah, Lauren (Brian), Brittany, Blake, Mary, Jennifer, Katherine, Christopher, Mallorie, m elissa, Alan, Fintan, Maura, Mónica, Anneliese, Samantha, Rebecca, and Stephen; by his great-grandchildren Madeline, Bethany, and Brent; also brother of the late Joseph (Dorothy) Ceisel and the late Edward (Celeste) Ceisel and brother-in-law of the late James (Barbara) Dowling. Visitation Sunday, May 8, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Homes, 8025 W. Golf Rd., Niles. Funeral Monday, May 9, at 10:45 a.m. from Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home to St. Juliana Church, 7201 Oketo Avenue, Chicago. Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. Ernie’s example of honorable values and his personal guidance had a profound influence on my adolescent development that has carried on through my entire life. When as an adult I thanked him, he very humbly said: “Oh I didn’t really do anything special”, but from my prospective he certainly did. I am deeply appreciative of all he did for me.
