Richard (Avrahom) Fammeree, Jr. Poet, singer, songwriter and founder of the Universe of Poetry Foundation. Survived by his beloved wife Rachel Jamieson Webster; beloved father of Adele Dorothea Webster Fammeree; devoted son of Richard and the late Dorothy Fammeree; dear brother of Miriam Weismann; cherished uncle of Aaron and Rachel Weismann; dear friend of David Pelzer, Carrie Ingrisano and many others. In lieu of flowers, please give in his memory to The Universe of Poetry c/o Webster, 1501 Dewey Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. Memorial service next weekend. I was a student in his 6th grade class, 30 years ago. He was fun and kind. For "Current Events", he would encourage us to draw political cartoons. I remember him telling me how good my drawings were - and I believed him! Rest in peace, Mr. Fammeree.

How sad I am to learn about Richard's illness and death this morning. Richard and I were friends a long time ago, in high school!! We actually attended my high school prom together! I've not seen or heard anything about him since we both left for college. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends, he will be missed.

I remember Richard when we played baseball together and lived across from each other in the apartments on Harlem Avenue.

I only met Richard a few times, but I will always remember his big smile and his love of and support of art and artists.
