ELIZABETH MILITELLO Obituary

Elizabeth "Reno" Militello, 77, a homemaker of Lombard, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2011 at her daughter's home, surrounded by family. Born June 23, 1933 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to parents Elizabeth and David Kennedy. Reno immigrated to Chicago in 1948. In 1954, Reno met the love of her life, Sam, and they married at St. Alexander's Church. They enjoyed 53 wonderful years of marriage, which included honoring Reno's hometown with naming of the family business, Belfast Auto Parts. They were blessed with five children. Reno had a passion for her faith, family, friends, bowling, bingo, traveling, and spoiling her 13 grandchildren. Reno was an active member of the DuPage County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Beloved wife of the late Sam; loving mother of Ann Marie (Tim) DeMars, Patty Ann (Don) Nolte, Donna (Howie) Tribble, Samuel (Anna) Militello, and the late Tim Militello; loving grandma of David, Kevin, Ryan DeMars, Jennifer (Francis) Loughran, Brian, Danny Nolte, Kelly, Matt, Ricky Tribble, Kayla, Alyssa, Taylor, and Gage Militello; sister to Jean Corso, David Kennedy and the late Thomas Kennedy; aunt to many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law of Annie (Tony) Bahrs; daughter of the late Elizabeth and David Kennedy. Visitation Sunday, May 15, 2011, 3 to 8 p.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL, where prayer will be said on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. with 10 a.m. Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 300 S. Cornell, Villa Park, IL. I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to the family of Reno on her passing.
I came from Ireland the same year (1948) and we enjoyed many good times together My husband and I had the privelige to attend your Mom and Dad's wedding.
And, if I could send sincere condolances to Jean and Davie I send this on behalf of all the Sloan family.
