JOHN DONAHUE Obituary

John Richard Donahue, 90, formerly of Tinley Park, died on May 13, 2011 in Springfield, OH. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Malley Hayes); two children and spouses, Dr. James (Patricia) Donahue, Baltimore, Maryland and Mary Ellen (Michael) Accocella, Springfield; three grandchildren, Shannon, John and Meghan; two step children, Patrick (Carolyn) Hayes and Eileen (J. Thomas) Windon; all of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Gaynor in 1984. Mass of Christian Burial was held in Springfield. Friends and family are invited to the burial at Holy Sepulchure Cemetery, Chicago, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20. The family is being served by Vandenburg Funeral Home. 708-532-1635

Dick will always be remembered as a kind and loving man. I always enjoyed his company. He was a wonderful father-in-law to my daughter Patsy. He is truly missed.

Living in the same Tinley Park neighborhood, J.R. and I rode the Rock Island to and from Chicago together for years--I was his chauffeur. I will always remember his big smile and big heart.
