George Busekros Obituary
The Reverend George P. Busekros, Pastor Emeritus at Salem United Church of Christ, Oak Lawn, IL, age 82, went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2011, at his home in New Lenox, IL, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Eleanor, nee Mayer, for 60 years; loving father of David, Steve and Diane (Joseph) Richmond; cherished grandfather of Kyle and Teagan Busekros and Zachary and Abigail Richmond; dear brother of Marilyn Schueneman; dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews. Rev. George will lie in state on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 3 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service, 11 a.m. at Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Kostner, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in New Lenox, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salem United Church of Christ or National Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated. Please except our sympathy. Pastor and all of you were a big part of our lives. I was in the class of 1970 confirmation class--one of his biggest. That class will forever be known as the one where Pastor "broke" his bible. We were a handful but he was wonderful with all of us. He married me and baptised all my children. I think his greatest claim to fame will be when our cousin came to town from California and wanted a White Christmas in the worst way---during the Christmas Eve service it snowed like crazy. My cousin was thrilled and thanked Pastor-in his quiet way he just smiled! The best to all of you in this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy to the Busekros family. Rev. Busekros will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He performed our marriage and my sons marriage. He also baptized and confirmed our children. He was a wonderful man. A good listener and had really good advice throughout the years we have known him. God Bless all of you. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father. Rex Pippin called me and told me of his passing. I worked with George when he was on the Lifelink Board of Directors in Bensenville. I worked in the Executive Office and had many things in common with him. My husband was also a pastor.Again my sympathy, and God bless you and keep you.
