So sorry to hear of this sad news - I only knew Mark a short time, but he definitely made an impression on me of a true honest representative for the people which is hard to come by in these times. May you find comfort in all the great memories you all shared together.

I was shocked to hear of Mark's untimely death. We were both appointed to the House in the fall of 1996.
He was a man of strong convictions, a lot of fun and a good man. He will be missed by many, many friends.
Condolences to the family.

Our family has many fond memories of Mark and the entire Beaubien Family, dating back to the 1930s. Mark's mother, Peggy, was my mother's best friend; and his father, Mark Sr., was a good friend and confidant of my father, Clarence E. Adams. We knew Mark as a child and watched him develop and evolve into a passionate, fair and honest public servant. His passing is a huge loss and we extend our sincere sympathies to Dee and the entire Beaubien Family. Jayne Adams Piehl

Dear Dee,
Dan and I were shocked and sad to see the notice of Mark's death in Monday's Tribune. We have enjoyed seeing you both at wine events around Barrington. We also appreciated having a State Rep of Mark's stature. Always doing the right thing- always with his own intelligence and integrity. He will be sorely missed by many of us who were very lucky to have known him- even a little bit. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Beaubien Family, Mark was one of my FAVORITE State Reps....so gracious and unpretentious to his constituency...so generous to the community...a champion for small business owners....and an inspiration for young hunters like my son. His legacy will live on both in Springfield and in his home district as a mentor to many. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

We were stunned to leard of the passing of Representative Mark Beaubien last Sunday. It was on that day, only hours before his being stricken that I shook his hand and exchanged a few pleasantries. With Mark and Dee, we were enjoying the Republican Day at Arlington Park. My Dear Wife Doreen, served for 16 years as the Director of Development Research at Northwestern University and was familar with Mark's generosity to his alma mater. Our association with Mark began over ten years ago and we saw him socially at many Party events and always enjoyed our conversations with him. He was a champion of the ideals that he held strongly and few of us had any doubt as to where he stood on the issues of the day. He will certainly be missed in the halls of Springfield and no one will be able to serve in the way he led the House. Godspeed faithful servant Mark Beaubien.

On behalf of my wife Nancy as well as myself, I extend our deepest sympathy to Dee Beaubien and all of Mark's family for his passing. As President of the Village of Barrington during Mark's first five years as our State Representative, I attest to his extensive support of the Barrington community and its citizens. In addition, he was a man with utmost honesty and integrity. We will definitely miss his presence in the Barrington area as well as his representation of us in Springfield.

Dee,
It was a shock to me to read of Mark's death. I have known and admired Mark -- and you -- for fifty years. You might have been the most attractive couple on the Northwestern campus and your lives together have benefited untold numbers of people. It was always a pleasure to work with Mark on Northwestern committees. I am sorry I cannot be there to convey my condolences to you in person.
