IRENE KALMES Obituary

Irene Kalmes, nee Turski, age 88, lifelong resident of Skokie, IL and Burlington, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 4, 2011, after a long illness. Irene and her brothers were longtime owners, through 1976, of Turski Florist in Skokie. Beloved wife of Charles; loving mother of Natalie (Phil) Dandino, Nadine Kalmes, and Renee (Rick) Nelson; devoted grandmother of Christopher, Jessica (Andrew), Gregory, Corrine, Meghan, and Katherine; cherished sister of Chester (Carol) Turski; caring sister-in-law of Kathryn Boyington, Marge Wehlage, Barbara Kreegier, Bea Kalmes, Jack and Millie Conrad; fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass honoring Irene's life will be celebrated Wednesday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Lake Ave., Wilmette, where Charlie and Irene were married 63 years ago. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500, Chicago, IL, 60604-1242 or www.americanheart.org.
