I think of my good friend “Teena” often. When I was a seminarian assigned to St. Edmund’s Church, she became a great supporter of me, and was instrumental in my formation as a future priest. Our friendship began to grow, along with that of her beloved husband, as the three of us would meet each Tuesday afternoon for Bible study and always a delicious lunch in her beautiful home. After my ordination and move to a parish in New York State her beloved Albert died and she sent for me to come and assist at his funeral Mass. even as my pastoral assignments move from place to place all over the nation, Teen would always come and visit me bringing with her a treasure trove of New Orlean gastronomic delicacies! Once she herself was ordain, our relationship only strengthened as she became a trusted and beloved colleague in ministry. She is sorely missed! But, I am sure she surrounds the throne of God praising Him day and night! May God always keep her in His bosom where she rests in peace and in the eternal light of the Lamb!

Teena and I met in the fourth grade at Valena C. Jones Elementary School in New Orleans and were classmates through high school and college. We kept in contact through the years. She was always an inspiring, dedicated, brilliant and caring role model. She was a true friend.
My sincerest condolences to Norman and Teena's entire family.

To son Norman and the Williams family, my sincerest condolence on the life transition of one of the last original Bronzeville's business women. "Teena" was one of our most faithful members of the board of Bishops Associates for about 25 years. Even on those days when she did not feel well, she still attended and had her driver wait for her. She was one of those wonderful shining faces of God among us that made us all better Christians and better people.

I had the honor of joining "The LaRuth Club" formed by Rev. Williams over 30 years ago to help women adjust when they became widows. This group of women met once a month to discuss subjects of interest, and fellowship with one another with refreshments furnished by her.She was a beautiful person inward as well as outward. We will love and miss her always.

My prayers are with you Norman & Linda. I know how devoted you were to your Mom and that she will be sorely missed by you and many others. Our family is getting smaller with the older folks leaving. Guess the party will be on when she joins the rest of the gang. Love Athalia
