Growing up in Chicago, Russell Strand was one of my best friends. I still remember visiting his home, meeting his family, and riding bicycles together all over Chicago's northwest side. One time, for fun, we carried out a conversation over two plastic cups bound together with a long string. Russell almost got married, but his good intentions fell prey to an economy transitioning from manufacturing to service industries. It's sad that he passed, but as I remember, he was pretty faithful to the Lutheran religion. So I expect he is in a restfull place.
