If there was a way for her to peak through heaven to witness your wedding then I'm sure God made a way. If there was a way for her to send you an unmarked gift, then I'm sure God made a way. If there was a way for her to be a bridesmaid without anyone knowing except you feeling her by your side, I'm sure God made a way. That's life and only He can bring beauty in death, only he can bring life to marriage. Do as Katy would have you do....life life and life it to the fullest.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Cerullo, Lauren, and Whitney,
Unfortunately being out of the Chicago area for awhile I just heard of Katie's passing from a friend and am shocked and incredibly saddened. I have many fond memories of spending time with Katie and Lauren and your whole family at your homes in River Forest, Chicago, and Woodstock. From the first time I met Katie I was struck by her intelligence, compassion, humor, and strength. I am so sorry for your loss and hope to get in touch with Lauren somehow. My thoughts are with your family.

Dear Cerullo Family,
I was heartbroken to hear of Katie's passing. I knew her at Wellesley, and while we fell out of touch afterward, I've thought of her often and fondly since. I was in awe of her seemingly boundless intelligence, talent and generosity and always hoped we would cross paths again.

My thoughts are with you,

To the Cerullo Family:

An old patient of Lenny & my dad called me to let me know of the loss of your precious daughter and sister, Katie; I believe my dad was Katie's godfather. I first met Katie when she was an infant (I was an adolescent) and a second time several years ago at "Pizza D.O.C." (I was by then... middle-aged).

Although I did not know your lovely daughter/sister, it is clear that she was a poet and had a profound influence on, and love for her family, her friends, and her dogs. I will send my prayers out tonight for the peaceful rest of her soul, and that God embraces this young woman, her family and friends.

Dear Dr, and Mrs. Cerullo, Lauren and Whitney,
I just learned of Katie's death today and I am devastated by this news. Katie was one of my all-time favorite students in English Literature Honors at OPRFHS, as was her twin sister Lauren.

She was intelligent, witty, fun loving, creative and had a personal charm that was magnetic. I was just thinking about her a few days ago and hoping I could find out where she was. I will never forget her passion for Emma Thompson, her playwriting and performing in class, and her insights on literature and life.
I last heard from her a few years ago when she was living in the Bucktown-Lincoln Park are. I looked forward to our talks and get togethers.

I am so terribly sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Dr. & Mrs. Cerullo, Lauren, and Whitney,

I'll always remember Katie to be smart and funny, and I feel lucky that I got a chance to know her. She also was a phenomenal cook who not only enjoyed good food and great company, but created it. The meal she cooked for us sophomore year of college will go down in history. The times I spent with Katie - from Georgetown to Deer Valley to Chicago - were always full of laughter and adventure. She had a way of infecting fun.

I am so, so sorry for such a great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and pets of Katie.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Cerullo and Lauren and Whitney,

It is very difficult to understand why God should call Katie home so suddenly. But, we know Him and we trust Him and all will be right.
Have you ever examined the wrong side of a stitched tapestry? You see nothing but a tangle of threads, crossed and re-crossed. It looks like a big mistake. One would think that someone had done it who did not know what s(he) was doing. But when you turn it over and look at the right side, you see a beautifully embroidered creation.

It is so hard not to look at this today from the wrong side. Someday we shall see it from another standpoint and shall understand. Katie sees it from this standpoint now, as she joyously is held by the hands of the weaver.

Katie celebrated life, and her life will be eternally and in eternity joyously celebrated.

God bless you all, always,
Kelly Iosello

Dear Len, Cheryl, Lauren and Whitney: we feel so profoundly sad at the news of Katie's death, and extend our deepest sympathy to you in this unimaginable loss. It seems to me not long ago when Katie spent many days at our house, sparking all kinds of games and adventures (Sarah said she would never have been able to chase Jordie Mackey in first grade without Katie spurring her on!) I loved having her over, because there was never a dull moment with Katie around. She was a bright star, and she will remain in my memory always as a girl full of life and fun. And for Sarah, who katie always called "A", she will always be at the center of her childhood memories.

With much affection and sorrow,

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Cerullo, Lauren, and Whitney,

I'm so sorry to be writing this. I was shocked and saddened to hear about Katie. I spent several hours last Saturday night telling my husband stories about Katie and trying to find her contact information. We'll be in Chicago over New Year's, and I was hoping to meet up with her. We were both looking forward to seeing her.

There are few people who have meant as much to me as Katie. I miss her terribly, and I cannot imagine the sorrow you must feel. I extend my condolences not only to you, but to all who loved Katie.

Dear Dr. Cerullo, Cheryl, Lauren, and Whitney,

I was very sad to hear about Katie. We have lost someone truly special. Katie's intelligence sparked my first thoughts about returning to college after my years in the horse business. I hoped one day I could be as smart as her. I'm sure I am not there yet.

Katie's adventurous spirit is crystallized for me in my memories of her climbing in the rafters at the barn all the time (while spooking her sisters' horses in the ring)!

Heaven must be a place where people are reunited with the humans and animals who they have loved. How can it be any other way? That is how I know Katie (and my brother-in-law John) are okay.
