Eleanor DiGiacomo Obituary

Eleanor C. DiGiacomo peacefully passed with family at her side at the Marley House Hospice, Prescott, Ariz., on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015.

She was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Kingston, to Anthony and Julia Poplosky.

She married the love of her life, Fernando, in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Jan. 13, 1951. This began her career as an Air Force wife. For the next 22 years she traveled the world and raised three children.

Eleanor will long be remembered by family and friends for her kind nature, love of reading, travel, cooking and her traditional Christmas Eve gatherings. She loved making cookies and joyfully gave to family and friends each Christmas.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando, of 52 years; sisters, Florence Makowski, Hedwick Shabelski and Irene Blaso; and brothers, Benny, Edward and Raymond.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Celestine M. Sisko, Dewey, Ariz., whom she resided with for the past four years; sons, Phillip, wife Darlene Dewey, Arizona; and Eugene, wife Shelley, Forty Fort; and grandsons, Alexander, Nicholes and Michael J. Sisko.

A celebration of life was held at Fountain of Life Church, Prescott, Ariz., on Feb. 5.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville, on Friday. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m., with Mass at 10 a.m.

Arrangements were provided by the National Cremation Society of Phoenix, Ariz.

We will all miss her. Her canola was famous and dad just loved her apple pies. She just enjoyed baking and family . She joins her love and her family and watches over us all. May your memories of times spent with her help you through this difficult time.
