Louise Irene Burger, 71, of Hanover Township, passed away early Sunday morning, May 22, 2016, at her daughter's home in Forty Fort, surrounded by her family.
Born in Los Angeles, she was a daughter of the late George and Marie Matteson and attended La Sierra College in Riverside, Calif.
She was a part-time kindergarten teacher and calligraphy instructor, both in California and here in Pennsylvania. Being an excellent seamstress, she designed and crafted her own wedding dress by hand and her husband's suit jacket as well. An extremely talented artist, she could often be found dabbling in paints, pencils and charcoals, amongst many other mediums.
Louise was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all. She belonged to the Beaumont SDA Church and will be missed by her second family there, as well.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine McKinney, Los Angeles, Calif.
Surviving are her husband, Robert, Hanover Township; and daughter, Katrina Belgio, son-in-law, Charles Belgio, and grandchildren, Charles Jr., Skylar and Nico, Forty Fort.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date in her honor at her home church in Beaumont.
Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

Bob, I will always remember Louise like the day I first met her... Reaching out her hand in kindness and love with sweet determination to do whatever she could do to help. Our heart breaks along with yours, but also rejoices knowing that we will soon be reunited. The best part is that all of our tears will be forever behind us! We love you so.
