Connie S. Hoover, 59, of Lake Township, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hoover was born Feb. 6, 1957, in Tunkhannock, and was the daughter of Beverly Newell Murphy of Noxen and the late Charles Murphy Sr.
Connie graduated from West Side Vocational Technical School, Pringle, in 1975 and attended Allied Medical School to become a medical assistant, and was employed as the medical records supervisor by Intermountain Medical Center, Shavertown.
She enjoyed hunting and was a member of the South Mountain Land Association. She also liked shopping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved listening to Celtic Thunder and enjoyed every holiday, but Christmas was her favorite.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Tuck" Murphy Jr., and niece, Shannon Draper.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband Allan Hoover; son, Christopher and his companion, Jennifer Gabriel, West Nicholson; daughter, Sarah White and her fiancé, Robert Damiano, Nicholson; brothers, James Murphy and Russell Murphy, both of Noxen; and Brian Murphy, Sweet Valley; sisters, Donna Harvey, Edwardsville; and Tammy Crispell, Noxen; grandchildren, Haley and Eli White; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Jacob M. Johnson, pastor of City of Light Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service on Friday.

I use to work with Connie years ago at Dr John Carey's office. What an amazing women! Always made work fun! Sending my prayers and condolences.
