Ethel Yankosky Obituary

Mrs. Ethel "Dolly" (Peterman) Yankosky, 74, of Bear Creek Township, passed into eternal life unexpectedly Friday evening, July 22, 2016, shortly after admission to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born Oct. 24, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter to the late Edward Peterman and Mrs. Lena L. (Pasek) Peterman-Wasilewski. Educated in city schools, Mrs. Yankosky attended GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.

She is remembered by family and friends as being a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her beloved family.

Mrs. Yankosky was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Yankosky, on Aug. 12, 2009. At the time of his passing, the couple enjoyed 52 years of married life together.

She was recently preceded in death by her mother, Lena L. (Pasek) Wasilewski, who passed away on Dec. 28, 2014.

Surviving are her son, Thomas Yankosky and his wife, Michelle, Bear Creek Township; grandsons, Thomas Yankosky Jr., at home; Brian Yankosky, Bethlehem; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Yankosky will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 N. Main St. The Rev. Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor of St. Andre Bessett Parish, will offer Liturgy of the Word and serve as homilist.

Interment, with the Rite of Committal, will follow next to her husband in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 S. Main St., Hanover Township.

Relatives and friends may join the Yankosky family for visitation and remembrances at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.

In lieu of floral tributes, the Yankosky family would be honored if prospective donors consider a contribution to the SPCA of Luzerne County, Fox Hill Road, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705.
