Marie A. Bardick, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Golden Living Center-East Mountain, Plains Township.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 23, 1926, a daughter of the late George and Ann Hahn Stook. Marie was a 1944 graduate of Coughlin High School. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the local garment industry, having worked for many years at Cohen Fine and Grand Finale in Wilkes-Barre.
Marie was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception in Wilkes-Barre. She was a volunteer foster grandparent for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Bardick, in 1979, and by her brothers, George and Gerald Stook.
Surviving are her daughters, Patricia Lesko and her husband, Joseph, Moosic; and Karen Hess and her husband, William, Drums; grandchildren, Christina Carroll and her husband, Joseph, and Justin Lesko; and great-grandson, Joseph Carroll. She will be especially missed by her sister-in-law, Irene Stook; by her cousin, Gloria Dalessandro; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie's daughters and family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Senior Care of Plains Township and Golden Living Center-East Mountain for their dedicated and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
