Catherine McHugh, 91, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Saturday morning in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
She was born May 18, 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of the late Gregory and Sophia Kostak Snyder.
Catherine was a graduate of Hanover Township High School. Prior to retiring, she was employed as a waitress and bartender at the Oak Grove Club in Wilkes-Barre.
She was a life member of St. Robert of Bellarmine Parish at St. Aloysius Church. Catherine was a world class Rummy player who loved sharing time with her family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her son, Gerald McHugh, in 2001; sisters, Anna Carruth and Mary Brennan; and a brother, Stanley Snyder.
Surviving are her son, Jeffery McHugh, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Patricia Creazzo, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Lisa Radcliffe, Joseph Creazzo, Catherine Renee Creazzo, Selina McHugh, Alessa McHugh; great-grandchildren, Jeron Radcliffe, Jordan Radcliffe, Talia McHugh, and Michael and David Jackiel; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Nat & Gawlas funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert of Bellarmine Parish, Barney & Division streets, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
