Stanley L. Chickson Jr., 78, of Larksville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at the Kingston Health Care Center.
He was born in the Lee Park section of Hanover Township on Aug. 15, 1938. He was the son of the late Stanley L. Sr. and Rose (Kramer) Chickson.
Stanley was a graduate of Hanover High School and he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 as a meteorological technician.
He had a lengthy career as a certified life underwriter and a certified financial underwriter for the Metropolitan and Prudential Life Insurance companies.
Stanley enjoyed golfing and fishing, but he had a deep passion and interest in political issues at all levels of government.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen Dziedzic; sister, Mary Susan; and brothers, John and Donald.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann (Williams) Chickson; sisters, Lara Buglio, Rosemarie Quinn, Mary Ann Kunicki and husband, John, and Isabel Gilroy and husband, John; brother, James and wife, Kathleen; brothers-in-law, Dale Williams and wife, Eileen, and John Williams and wife, Johanna; and son-in-law, Bernard Dziedzic.
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt Street, Larksville, with the Rev. Gerald Gurka officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.

Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. Stanley was always pleasant and nice to talk to when I knew him in Lee Park in the 50/60's, I was a neighbor from Oxford St.
