Jo-Ann M. Fimowicz of Wyoming, formerly of Larskville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017.
She was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School, Plymouth, and the Mercy Hospital School of Radiological Technology.
Jo-Ann was employed by Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, as an X-ray technologist and nuclear medicine technologist. She was last employed by Commonwealth Health Saxton Pavilion as a mammographer, retiring in 2010.
After her retirement, she had been employed by Timber Ridge Health Care Center as a receptionist.
She was the daughter of the late John K. Dula Sr. and Anna M. Ondovchak Dula.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Anthony T. Fimowicz, and her brother, J. Karl Dula.
Surviving are her three loving daughters, Maria Fimowicz, Wyoming; Antoinette Fimowicz, Chicago, Ill.; and Jo-Ann Thomas with her husband, John, Harveys Lake. Also surviving are her grandson, John Noah Thomas, currently a freshman at Bloomsburg University; sisters-in-law, Helen J. Dula, Wilkes Barre Township; and Mildred Smith, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Stanley Fimowicz and his wife, Stella, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, who she deeply cherished.
The funeral will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, William Street, Pittston. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arthritis Association, to support rheumatoid arthritis research, by visiting www.arthritis.org, or the breast cancer foundation of the donor's choice in Jo-Ann's memory.

Your mother was one of the greatest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She always greeted me with a smile no matter how she felt. I'll always think fondly of her. May God bless you all in this time of sorrow.
