Benjamin "Butch" Hall, 73, of Wilkes-Barre, went home to the Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Alda Hall. He graduated from James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
He worked as a lather for many years and belonged to the Carpenters Union. His last position before retiring was at the Warren County Regional School District, New Jersey.
He was a member of the East End Primitive Methodist Church for many years, where he sang in the choir. He was a past master of King David Lodge 763 and a member of the Provost Guard of the Irem Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Natasha Lynn Newel.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; children, Denise Haas, Greenfield, Mass.; Lisa Saylor and husband, David, Hamburg; and David Hall and wife, Val King, Lenhartsville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the East End Primitive Methodist Church, Laurel and Kidder streets, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday from Daniel J. Hughes Funeral & Cremation Service, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East End Primitive Methodist Church, Laurel and Kidder streets, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
