Mary C. Misewich, 97, of Plains Twp., passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2017, while in the care of St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 19, 1919, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Palfy Novak.
Mary was preceded in death by husband, Chester Misewich; sister, Leona Buchola; and brothers, John, Stephen and Aloysius Novak.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Matous and her husband, Jerry, Wilkes-Barre; son, Robert and his wife, Joan, Turnersville, N.J.; grandson, Steven Misewich and his wife, Erika, Baltimore, Md.; granddaughters, Kimberly Misewich, Florida; and Allison Matous, Wilkes-Barre; and great-grandsons, Tyler Misewich and Ryan Hornibrook.
A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Road, Plains Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, starting at 10 a.m., with the celebrant, the Rev. John Lambert, pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Plains Twp.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the loving caregivers of St. Luke's Villa for their compassion when it was most needed.

I respectfully express my condolences on your Mom's passing. I visited my Mom today, she passed 16 weeks ago. She was also a member of SS Peter and Paul in Plains. Your Mom is my Mom's neighbor at the cemetery. God bless you all.
