Rose Mary Kapish, 73, of Duryea, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Wesley Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pittston.
She was born in Pittston on June 24, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Anna Judge Banellis.
Rose Mary was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea. She was a graduate of West Pittston High School.
She worked briefly for the Old River Road Bakery and spent most of her life as a homemaker.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be deeply missed by all who new and loved her.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, John Kapish, on March 25, 1988; her brother, James; and her sister, Marie Theresa Yuhas.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Kapish III, Duryea; and Charlie Kapish and his wife, Janelle, Pittston Twp. Also surviving are her granddaughter, Sophia Rose Kapish, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Parish Church, Stephenson Street, Duryea, with the Rev. John V. Polednak officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Interment will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
