Thomas A. Rogers, 82, of Loyalville, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Rogers was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Kingston, and was the son of the late Eldon and Louva Jones Rogers.
He graduated from Dallas Twp. High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Navy and also in the Merchant Marines.
After Tom retired from traveling the world as a service engineer for General Electric, he started Rural Septic, a local service company.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed farming in Loyalville and fishing on the river.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by twin brothers, Robert and Richard Rogers; and sisters, Marilyn Trimble and Dianne Brennan.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Barbara; son, Steven Rogers, Shavertown; daughters, Gayle Willett and her husband, Brian, Boston, Mass.; and Lesley Rogers-Tereska and her husband, Mike, Harveys Lake; brother, James Rogers, Mehoopany; sisters, Janet Sorber, Winterville, N.C.; and Donna Kertz, Beaufort, S.C..; and five grandchildren.
According to Mr. Rogers' wishes, his funeral service will be private with the Rev. Timothy V. Cappucci, pastor of the Community Bible Church of Sweet Valley, officiating, followed by a private interment in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Loyalville.
Arrangements are by Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., Pikes Creek.
