Bruce K. Blackburn, 69, of Exeter, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, in Residential Hospice Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Davis and Vilma Rahn Blackburn. He was a graduate of Willingboro High School, Willingboro, N.J., and received his associate degree in computer science. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam. For 25 years, he was employed at the TP Corp and prior to his retirement he was employed by Bridon American Corp for 10 years. For 27 years, he served as the sexton for Wyoming Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Lithuanian Club of Exeter, VFW post 6518 of Exeter, Swoyersville American Legion post 644.
Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Grace Blackburn, her husband, Herbert Blackburn; brothers, Mark and Kirk Blackburn; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 28 years, the former Ann Hargrave; nephew, Joshua Kasper, who he loved like a son, Pittston; children, Bruce Blackburn Jr., Massachusetts; Marissa Blackburn, Mountain Top; brothers, Craig Blackburn and his wife, Jeanette, N.J.; Paul Blackburn and his fiancée, Selena, Massachusetts; nephews, Jonathan Kasper; Nicholas Blackburn; Davis Blackburn; Jeffrey Huie; Jaxon Blackburn; niece, Sarah Blackburn; Jordan Blackburn; Adrianna Blackburn; and pets, Boobsie, Dammy Girl and Corkey.
Along with friends and family, Bruce will be missed by all who knew him. Never be sorry for losing him. Feel blessed for having him in our lives.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
