Dennis Klein passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, in Fenton, Mich., from complications due to Parkinson's.
He was born on April 14, 1939, in New York City, to Robert and Malvina Maxwell Klein.
In his teens, he moved to Sugar Notch, where he graduated from Sugar Notch High School. He immediately joined the U.S. Air Force and honorably served for four years working as a weather observer in diverse stations including Savannah, Ga., and Alaska.
After his military service, he attended King's College in Wilkes-Barre, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He worked for several Federal agencies including the ATF, the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Center for Health Statistics.
With his former spouse, Carole, he had two sons, Darren and Marc, who were his pride and joy. Dennis enjoyed playing softball, bowling and watching the New York Yankees. In 1992, he married Debra Usitalo, formerly of Bessemer, Mich.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents; and two younger brothers, Russell and Darrell.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; son, Darren and his wife, Rebecca and their son, Ryan; son, Marc; sister, Roberta; sister-in-law, Clotilde; and brother-in-law, Howard and his wife, Jane.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at King's College Chapel, Wilkes-Barre. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp., Wilkes-Barre, immediately following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to King's College, 133 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711; any Parkinson's organization; or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, Mich.
McLaughlin Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, is handling local arrangements.
