Betty was born Aug. 22,1938, in Plymouth, to the late Albert and Myrtle Hicks. She was a 1956 graduate of Plymouth High School. After graduating, she traveled across the country on bus to marry James W. Brown Sr. while he was stationed in California. She worked for Alta Footwear and Leslie Fay Clothier until her retirement in 2003.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother and an awesome grandmother, GiGi and friend to many. She was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church and an active member until her husband's passing in 2022. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Brown Sr.; daughter-in-law, Sally A. Brown; parents, Albert and Myrtle Hicks; stepmother, Mary Brown Hicks; sister, Wilmet Hicks; brother, Albert and sister-in-law, Grayce Hicks.

She is survived by her three children, James Brown Jr., Middletown, Del.; Debbie Lamoreaux (Bill), Mountain Top; and Christina Ravert (Daron), Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lamoreaux with fiancé, Seth, Watsontown; Nicole Rutala with husband, Nick, Mountain Top; Kimberly Reilly with husband, Bill Bear, Del.; James Brown III with wife, Nicole, York; Michael Ravert with fiancée, Hanna Zagarra; Katelyn Ravert and Lily Ravert, Elizabethtown; and seven great-grandchildren, Zoey, Ryder and Violet (Kim and Bill), Brielle (James and Nicole), William, Wes and Wren (Nick and Nicole), who loved her dearly.

A private viewing and burial will be held at the convenience of the family through Williams-Hagen Funeral Home.

Chrissy, Debbie, and Jimmy so sorry for your loss of your mom. She was one great woman who I would call my 2nd mom growing up. She always treated me as if I was one of her own. I know she is enjoying tea right now with my mom. Many prayers for the entire family.
