Janedare Winston Obituary

Janedare Winston Feb. 14, 1925 - Oct. 13, 2004 At 5'2", she was larger than life, an indomitable spirit, and a true pioneer throughout her 79 years. Early on, she embraced holistic healing, organic gardening and metaphysics. She was a tireless advocate for children and mentor for women, encouraging 'random acts of kindness' wherever she went. A natural-born educator, she taught art, biology, and physical education during her 30+ teaching career, including UC Berkeley. Following her retirement at 62, she completed a life-long dream by earning her Doctorate in Multicultural Education and became a Certified Hynotherapist just last year. Throughout her life, Janedare continued to pioneer new worlds, sharing her knowledge, insights and wisdom. Her passion for purple, fairies, wild jewelry, oceans and roses was legendary. She will be dearly missed by her children, Kathi, Kerry, Holly and Robert, grandchildren, Kirsten, Shannon and Gavin and her many friends. The family wishes to warmly thank the staff of Hospice of CCC and her "team of healers" for easing and inspiring her crossing. Memorial services will be held on October 28, from 2-4pm, at The Gardens at Heather Farms, Camellia Rm., 1540 Marchbanks Dr., WC. Donations can be made to Bioneers at 1-877-246-6330, ask for the operator and mention donations to be made on behalf of Janedare.
