Mrs. B, Steve, Pam, Cheryl, and Chris: I just wanted you all to know I'm thinking of you as the one year anniversary of your dad & sweetheart's passing comes about, hard to believe it's been a year. I'm sure there are moments it feels like forever and then other times it feels like days. Remember though, every day that passes is one day closer to seeing him again in heaven!! I know you have all now experienced that life does surely go on, although now there are more bittersweet moments than before and certainly more quiet moments spent day-dreaming about the good old days. I do hope that your love for one another has helped comfort you during the times you've missed him most and I hope that soon you will be able to remember without the pain of his passing and only feel the joy he brought to each of your lives and the lives of the many people who loved him. (I'm guessing too that you wished, like I do, that God had thought to installed phones in heaven!! Maybe when we get there we can do something about that! I love you all to peices! Hugs & Kisses

Joe was one of the first people I ever played in tournament cribbage. Looking back on getting to play both he and Joe Wergin the same day I realize how lucky I was to escape with the shirt on my back. We are all lucky to have known this fine man, and I am ever thankful for his quiet smile and handshake whenever I got to see him, all too rarely though it was for me. My sincerest condolence to Joe's family and friends. Please know your loss is shared by many, and my prayers are with you.

Dear Cindy,
For the past 62 years Joe has been in my life as a dear friend. I find it very hard to look forward to these coming days without him. I remember, soon after your marriage, the two of you coming to my apartment on broadway to a party. The rounds of golf, as rookies on the Comets, and just his friendly way of being are things that will always be with me.
Cindy, although your loss is great, and I know you are in pain now, you will eventually find peace.
With deepest sympathy,

Steve and Joan Molidor

Dear Family:

Joe was a wonderful person. My association with him was through the American Cribbage Congress. He was a quiet but forceful presence in our Board of Directors meetings, and he gave me good counsel on changes to the cribbage rulebook. Some of his ideas will be incorporated into our latest revision.
Thanks for sharing Joe with us. I am sorry for your loss.

Such a wonderful man, such a great loss. I loved listening to him tell stories about his childhood, and the way he would say your name if he was pretending to be serious when we were laughing uncontrollably about something!

You are all in my prayers. With love and sympathy

Dear Cynthia and Family, Our world is certainly diminished with Joe's sad passing. As a classmate and friend I will miss him at our reunions and the possibility that we would see each other when we travel to No. Illinois or Arizona. Joe was always the best poker player when dimes and quarters were the stakes and Joe had the most inscrutable face-you couldn't 'read' him! Joe, Bill Gossell, Charlie Boak and I were class officers in our freshman year at Libertyville H.S.;you can see our picture on the tennis court in the 1946 Nautilus yearbook. We are unhappy that we cannot make it to your tribute for Joe so do share my thoughts with others. Thanks for this opportunity to send a timely message instead of a snail-mail one. Again the memories are many and fond. Most sincerely, Keith and Nancy Petersen, Covington, Kentucky.
