George Burt Obituary
Mr. Burt retired from Benson Philips as an accountant after 40 years of service. He was a former member of the James River Country Club, a graduate of Newport News Business School and a Roman Catholic.
Others preceding him in death were his sisters, Dorothy White and Joyce Foretich.
Survivors include his daughter, Dolores A. Kenley and her husband, Bill, of Newport News; sons, George E. Burt Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Smithfield, and Stephen Andrew Burt and his wife, Bonnie, of Roanoke; sister, Tillie Keeter of Newport News; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

To the Burt and Kenley Families: It was a pleasure knowing your Father and Grandfather.
I have often thought of him; of all the rides he gave me to school, all the rides to school functions and the graciousness which he afforded me. He was a special man. My heart joins with yours in this special time of loss. Be joyfull and have solace that he will be with your Mother, Grandmother and his Lord. Peace be with you all and God Bless.

I'm so sorry to hear about the death of my Uncle Eddie. I take a lot of comfort in knowing that he is with Aunt Geggie, Aunt Dot, and my mom. He was truly one of my favorite uncles and I remember him as always being interested in what was going on in my life.
I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the services, but will have you all in my thoughts and prayers.
