Raymond Hamblin Obituary
Born in Williamsburg, Ky., he had been a Peninsula resident for the past 40 years. Mr. Hamblin retired from the U.S. Navy at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station in 1972 with 18 years of service. He also retired from the Candle Factory in 2000 as a chef.
Mr. Hamblin is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hamblin of Newport News; his three sons, Raymond Hamblin of Jackson, N.C., Ron Hamblin of Chesapeake, and Richard Hamblin of Newport News; his three sisters, May Edwards, Lois Marsee and Mildred Rains, all of Williamsburg, Ky.; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to any veterans group.

Dear Hamblin family,
We were so sad to hear of your loss. Ray always was special to all of us at The Wharf. My parents and our family loved Ray. I will always remember him and his smile! God wrapped his arms around him and took a special person to heaven. Some of us have to wait a little longer to get there. You are all in our thought and prayers.

You have lost your husband and dad. Just try and comfort one another during these hard times and relish the memories you had together. Remember when someone you love becomes a memory, that
