I had the honor of knowing Mrs. Gracie from "The Cafe" at Hampton University. She was known as the nice cafe lady. She seem to enjoy her job and enjoy the students she served and I really appreciated her smiling face and loving and kind words. She always had a wonderful attitude and will be greatly missed! RIP and God Bless!

God bless this family during this time. I really did not know Ms. Gracie; she served me and thousands of other Hampton Institute Students back in the late 70s and early 80s in the cafe. But I could tell she cared by her sweet, familiar refrain: "Gravy baby?" You could tell she was somebody's momma and that she had a heart for children, which we were whether we wanted to admit it or not. God bless Ms. Gracie's memory.
