Robert Boothe Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Mr. Robert Stanley Boothe, 68, of Newport News, Va., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.
He was born on May 5, 1940, in Richmond, Va., and was the firstborn son of William and Anna Boothe. Mr. Boothe graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Boothe's career was comprised of positions with the Oldsmobile Company and the NYC Transit Authority from which he retired in 1995. A sports enthusiast, Mr. Boothe enjoyed fishing, golf and horse racing.
Mr. Boothe was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Boothe; his wife, Matilda S. Boothe (nEe Edwards); his daughter, Monique T. Boothe; and his grandson, Robert Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Boothe (nEe Brown); daughters, Roxanne Boothe of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sabrina Boothe of Pacifica, Calif., and Lisa Turner of Oxford, N.C.; son, Robert Boothe Jr. of Oxford, N.C.; and a host of beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Chapel.
