Eloise R. Sellars Kemp

WOODS CROSS ROADS - Eloise R. Sellars Kemp, 98, died Aug. 16, 2008.
She was a member of Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eloise was a beautiful seamstress, who loved to sew and made many beautiful clothes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved life, traveling, being with her children and grandchildren, and was devoted to her church and Savior.
Her parents, Woodland and Lois Roane; brothers, William W. Roane, Arthur C. Roane, Bernard Roane; and her husbands, Taylor B. Sellars and Oswald S. Kemp, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Donald T. Sellars Sr. and wife, Dottie, of Barhamsville, and daughter, Sandra S. Butler of Varina; a sister, Mildred 'Polly' Powers of Tallahassee, Fla.; brother, Edmond Roane of Phoenix, Ariz.
Eloise is survived by her grandchildren, Richard B. Butler Jr. and wife, Robin, of Glen Allen, Gay B. King and husband, Burke, of Midlothian, Kimberly B. Smith and husband, Mike, of Hopewell, D. Taylor Sellars Jr. and wife, Mary T. Sellars, Pamela S. Meadows and husband, Craig, of Barhamsville, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Nicole S. Smoke and husband, Marshal, Amanda, Jessica, Shelby Bettis, J. Kirby Sellars, Megan, Claire and Peyton Butler, Caroline and Taylor King, Jacquelyn and Tyler Smith.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church, 3727 Buena Vista Road, Plain View, Va. (King and Queen Co.). The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va.
