Lotte Goldstein Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Lotte Perzekow Goldstein, the only child of David and Rosalia Cohn, died on Aug. 20, 2008.
She was born in Siegburg, Germany, and in 1936 her parents sent her to America. Her parents however, and almost all of her relatives were lost as a result of the Holocaust.
Lotte moved to the peninsula in the late 1940's, after living in New York. She married Henry Perzekow in 1950, who died in 1975 and in 1978, was remarried to M. Stanley Goldstein, who passed away in 1996. She was a caring and attentive wife, mother, and friend.
Lotte was proud, energetic and fiercely independent to the end. She was a spirited thinker and conversationalist. She was a world traveler, an excellent cook and housekeeper. She made great coffee. She worked for the Hampton Public Schools and was well known as an administrator at the Jewish Community Center in Newport News for many years.
Lotte is survived by her daughter, Ruth Rosen, and devoted son-in-law, Jeffrey of Chicago. Lotte leaves a few especially close friends to cherish her memories and their times with her. It was a life well lived!
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in the Jewish Cemetery of the Virginia Peninsula.
Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Please email me your address as my mom wants to know how to get in touch with you.
