Jacquelyn Allred Obituary
She graduated from Newport News High School and then Longwood College. She taught at George Wythe Junior High School and Hampton High School. Jackie was a lifetime member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Jackie is survived by her devoted husband, Alfred A. Allred. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past April. She is also survived by many beloved family members. Jackie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lackey (deceased) of Hampton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. Very sorry to hear that Jackie has passed away. She was my date for my Senior Prom in June of 1945. My prayers and thoughts go out to all those who knew and loved her. MIles has seperated me from that area since my gradution in '45. My deepest sympathy is extended the those closest to her

Sorry to hear of Miss Lackey's passing. She was one of my favorites at George Wythe Jr.High.

Mr. Allred,
I saw "Ms. Lackey's" picture in Sunday's paper and was so sadden by her passing. She taught me Biology at Hampton High School almost 50 years ago. She was hard but fair. At the time I thought it was rough, but life has taught me she did me a favor. My condolences to you for the lost of a fine person.

I was a student of "Miss Lackey" at George Wythe Junior High School (9th grade), and I remember her just as vividly now as I did almost 50 years ago. She was a very special teacher who made every student feel special to her. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Miss Lackey was my biology teacher at George Wythe JHS. Although science was not my favorite subject, Miss Lackey made it very interesting, even dissecting a frog. (It was not as yucky as I thought it would be.) She was so sweet. My deep condolences.
