Rosa Petteway Obituary
She was a native of Halifax, N.C. She was a faithful member of Shalom Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Petteway.
She leaves to celebrate her life and memories, a loving and devoted daughter, Evelyn Petteway-Smith of Nokesville, Va.; three sons, Louis Petteway (Mary) of Newport News, Thomas Petteway of Newport News, Va., and Marvin Petteway of the home; one brother, Henry Davis of Littleton, N.C.; one sister, Flora Johnson of Newport News; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two devoted nieces, Queen Brown of Hampton, Va., and Susie Davis of Newport News; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th St., Newport News, VA 23607, (757) 380-0251. A celebration of life service will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 30, at Shalom Baptist Church, 1111-24th St., Newport News, VA 23607. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton, Va.
