Clifford Myers Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - On Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, God sent one of His angels to bring home for "Eternal Rest", our beloved, Clifford Myers, Jr. He peacefully answered the Master's call in his home.
His life began on July 24, 1929, the son of the late Louise and Clifford Myers Sr., of Montgomery, Ala. He was a longtime resident of the Williamsburg area and retired as a Civil Service Employee, after many years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the pioneer and founder of the first black motorcycle club in Williamsburg; the Williamsburg Crusaders.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl C. Myers.
He leaves to cherish his blessed memories, his daughters, Hester Hamilton (Jerry) and Rebecca Myers; his son, Matthew Canaday (Jean); his sisters, Irezetta Jones, Annie Fitzpatrick (James), Gwendolyn Rodgers (Dwayne) and Jacquelyn Robinson (Fred); his eighteen grandchildren; his fourteen great-grandchildren; his great great-granddaughter; a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held 1p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Whiting's Chapel with Dr. Robert Whitehead and the Rev. Horace Suber officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Mr. Myers may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
