Missouri Norward Obituary

HAMPTON - Ms. Missouri A. Norward departed this life on Sept. 2, 2008.
Missouri was born on Jan. 26. 1919, to the late Jake and Bessie Anderson in Louisburg, N.C.
She is preceded in death by three sisters.
She is survived by her son, John Norward, Hampton; daughter, Bessie Singleton, Newport News; sisters, Novella Smith and Dorthena Greene, Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Lucy Davis, Hampton and brother William Levone Anderson, Raleigh, N.C.; special niece, Luvenia Cappe; three grandchildren, Sabrina Benthall (Alan), Felicia Yvette Miller and Henry O. Singleton II (Patricia); and nine great-grandchildren, Donica, Vania, Toney, Najwa, Karisha, Henry, T'Nea, Jadah and Nala.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at First Baptist Church East End, 649 30th St, Newport News. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will assemble at the church by 10:45 a.m. Monday. Viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, and at the church two hours prior to the service.

Grandmothers are special. I know you will truly miss her. It is a pleasure knowing that God is with us during the difficult times in our lives and that her spirit is with God. May you look to God who is the only one who can give us the comfort that we need. Trust Him and you will have the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Sorry I missed the funeral, but I will be by to see you all this week.
