Linda Adams Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Linda Friend Adams, 65, passed away Sept. 6, 2008.
She was born in West Virginia and moved to Williamsburg in 1960. She was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and was employed by the college from 1966 until her retirement in 1998. At the time of her retirement, Mrs. Adams was head of Circulation at Swem Library.
She was a member of the D.A.R., U.D.C., Society of Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge and the First Colony Garden Club.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; and her three brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Arthur Friend.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ray Adams; her sister, Rose More of Onley, Va.; her two brothers, Clyde Friend of Ivydale, W.Va., and Lewis Friend of Maysel, W.Va..
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg with the memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg Foundation, P.O. Box 1265, Williamsburg, VA 23187 or to a favorite charity.
Nelsen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
