Mildred Mangum Obituary

HAMPTON - Mildred Leonard Mangum, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at her home.
Mildred is a native of Davidson County, N.C., and had been a resident of Hampton, Va., for 60 years.
Mildred retired from Newport News Shipbuilding, where she worked in the purchasing department. She was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wayland Ottis Mangum and an infant son, Brian Mangum; one brother, Harold F. Leonard and a sister, Helen Leonard Price.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 8, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at noon on Sept. 8, at Peninsula Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny Owens. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Personal Touch Hospice or charity of one's choice.
