Denise Williams Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Denise Darcel Williams died Friday, Aug.29, 2008 at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, Va.
She was born on July 7, 1953, in Newport News, Va., to James Williams Sr. and Alberta Thornton Williams. She was the youngest of four siblings.
Denise was educated in the Newport News Public School System. Her career path led her to Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she worked as a Nurse. She also worked in the School System here locally.
She accepted Christ at a very early age. During her walk with the Lord, she was a former member at First Baptist Church East End, Full Gospel Church of Deliverance and Faith Deliverance. Denise was a current and active member for three years of Mercy and Truth Ministries in Newport News, Va., where she served faithfully and her love for God was displayed as a Children's Church Ministry Teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Williams Sr. and Alberta Thornton Williams; one brother, Clarence Thornton; and two sisters, Doretha Williams Peanort and Gloria Williams Braxton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Ebony Monique Williams (23); son, Clinton James Turner Jr. (14), both of Newport News, Va.; three aunts, Corrine Davis, Elmer Williams and Sally Atkinson; one uncle, Lester Thornton; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home. A Funeral service will be held noon Monday, Sept. 8, at Mercy and Truth Ministries, 9911 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Va.

Family of the Late Denise Williams,
I was so saddened when I learned of Denise's passing. I was out of town, otherwise, I would have paid my respects to you all and Denise.
I remember Denise from Huntington High School (1971)as a pleasant and friendly classmate. I had not spoken to her over the years since Dorethea passed.
I pray for your comfort as you morun the loss of such a God sent woman, mother, family member and friend. I encourage your hearts in the times ahead.
