I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Ash. In the 1980's I was a frequent customer at Barclay & Son's Jewelry. It was always a pleasure to see her and be helped by her. You have my deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Cassell was hired by my father (W.S. Bell) and my grand father (J. H. Bell) and was their Boss. She was trusted, loved and respected by all the employees and owners of J. H. Bell Furniture Co. Inc. An excellant bookkeeper, office manager and everyone's advisor.
In the mid "50's" my grandfather was losing his eyesight and Mrs. Cassell would inform him quietly of every familiar customer entering the store, he then would walk up the long aisle with his right hand extended and greet them with a handshake calling them by name. Fooling some folks but most knew and appreciated his effort.
Some times Mrs. Cassell would take me to her home and Noreen and I would talk about boys, experiment with Mrs. Cassell's makeup and laugh a lot, we were only a year apart in high school.
These are a few of my fond memories of two lovely people, I hope I have brought a smile to all who loved them. Best wishes, Jo (Anne) Bell Wildman

To Mrs. Cassell's family, my sincerest condolances for your loss. Dan, you may remember me, I was Noreen's closest friend in high school. I met you at the class reunion in Newport News, shortly before Noreen died. I loved Noreen and miss her tremendously. We had our 50th HS reunion last month and her picture was on a display with all the others we have lost from our class. One classmate reminded me how Noreen and I used to sing on the school bus every day! She has been in my thoughts and heart for many years and always will be. With much affection, Bonnie Dodd Knutson.
