Susan Fichter Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - On Sept. 15, 2008, Susan Lucas Fichter, 70, of Williamsburg, Va., peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
Susan is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert A. Ficther; her sister, Mary Lou Lucas of St. Simmons Island, Ga.; brother, Robert C. Byers of Simpsonville, Ky. She is also survived by her daughter, Rebecca Hudson Waters of Baltimore, Md.; son, Todd Hudson of Towson, Md.; grandchildren, Hudson Stewart Waters, Ashby Gibson Waters, Lucy Evelyn Hudson and Caroline Byers Hudson.
A private service for the family will be held in Williamsburg, Va., with a memorial service to be held at Christ Church, Alexandria, Va., at a later date in October.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sentara Hospice Care, 1100 Professional Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23185 or Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff members of the following organizations for their loving, compassionate care throughout her treatment: Peninsula Cancer Institute, Sentara Home and Hospice Care and Hospice House of Williamsburg.

Susan was a wonderful person who never met a stranger. I will always remember the Saddlebred Horse Shows we attended together. She will be greatly miss but remembered forever with love and a smile!
