Hello Boo, my other little brother!
Missing you and your smile running through the back yard to see Winfield. WOW, it's been 12 years since you went to your heavenly home. Since Cue arrived, I can spiritually see ya'll organizing a football game for the LORD! Isn't it wonderful that you don't need those earth bound knees to do so. I am immensely grateful to GOD that he allowed us to live in the same neighborhood, attend the same school, and impact the lives of others in our own ways. Continue to enjoy the GOD's GLORY! See Ya Later

Dear Peggy and Sidney,
"Boo's" Uncle Sidney and I loved him. His uncle was so proud that Sidney has his name. On Saturdays, I especially enjoyed my phone calls with "Boo" explaining Tyrod,my great grandson's football games. "Boo" is truly missed by me and our family.

To Sidney, Carlyse, Archie and The Ford Family:
I knew "Boo" as far back as I can remember to Greenbriar Elementary on Maryland Ave in Dunbar Gardens where we grew up. Boo was two years older than me.
As a friend Boo always talked to me and give me advice. I always looked up to Boo, always respected him and wanted to be like him.
As a athlete Boo mentored me. I remember when he hurt his knee his senior year in high school. I have always asked myself what if? And how good Boo would have been had he not hurt his knee. Boo was the best all around athlete of his time in Dunbar Gardens where we grew up. I always imagine "Boo" playing pro ball. After he got hurt and could not play anymore I think he looked at me as his disciple. He mentored me as a athlete.
To "Boo's" son Sidney I would like to say. "Your father was the coolest person I ever knew." He was a born leader. Everybody in our neighborhood always followed Boo whatever he did. Everybody in our neighborhood growing up liked Boo and looked up to him. Sidney I hope to meet you someday.
I am still in state of shock that Boo had passed away. Even though I know Boo is in a better place his loss saddens me deeply. I feel as though I loss my big brother and my mentor.
"Boo I miss you and I think about you everyday."

There are no words in the english language special enough to convey my sentiments for my "Uncle BOO". I have lost one of the pillars of which my foundation for manhood stands. It was my first trip to Alexandria where our legendary bond began. (You jus, HAD to be there!) "Pull my FINGER!!" Watching "Uncle BOO" showed me the importance of balance, talking to "Uncle BOO" showed me how to balance. I don't believe I EVER saw him upset, rattled or frustrated. The "Epitome of Cool" is what he IS. I seek the "Eptiome of BOO". He is the reason I wear the tanktop tee shirt, sorely dubbed the "Wife Beater". He is the reason that I love to manage restaurants. Pointers were always abundant. My very first professional sporting event was made possible by my "Uncle Boo". He is the reason I love sport. I believe around age 14, I was able to return the favor. The amazing fact of the matter is how much I learned after the fact. For many many years, I saw my "Uncle BOO" as larger than life. Later, I would learn, he IS. I am not the only nephew that has lost one their best, so I will not act as if my lost is the greatest in the world. I do know that the greatest lost in the world, belongs to us ALL. I have shared enough and taken up enough space. I love you, Uncle BOO, always have and I always will. Peggy & Sydney, my lost does not compare. Your fortitude over the past year or so has truly inspired me. Just the same, I love you both . . . Always Have & Always Will

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To the Ford family, the Celebration of life of THOMAS "BOO" FORD, DEMONSTRATED LEGACY! It was peaceful that it felt like we were in heaven.Surely God's hand was on him, he did his work because it spoke for him. Indeed it was an honor to be able to attend the celebration of life. GOD will strengthen and keep all of you. It was good seeing everyone, brought back a lot of good memories from the neighborhood (Dunbar Gardens).
When Archie talked about his corvette, I do remember the green convertable vet, coming done KY at a high rate of speed from the Ford brothers. (Smile)

I first knew Boo in the summer of 1967 when he played rec league baseball for St. Rose's church in Wythe. My dad coached the team and we won most of our games on the strength of Boo's pitching and hitting. Most people would not remember Boo for his baseball abilities, but for those who knew him, who would be surprised? He was a natural athlete.
Later, at Hampton High & during college years, my friends would look on in amazement when this star athlete would go out of his way to say hello to me.
I moved away after college and we lost touch, but my father would see Boo from time to time and always spoke fondly of these encounters with Boo.
Boo was a gentle soul who laughed easily (even at himself). His friendship and kindness were unconditional. There is a little witticism, "I wish I were half as good as my dog thinks I am." If Boo had a dog, we know that this pooch would be a good judge of character.
It was my good fortune to know Boo Ford. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

Carlyse and Archie and Family,
My heart is full of sadness at the homegoing of "my other little brother, Boo". And even though his absence from this earth realm causes me much anguish, I can see him smiling and "going for the Goal" in the presence of GOD, his parents and mine, as Kent tries to catch up (smile)!
My prayer is that God continue to sustain you (and us) in the days ahead. A new reality now forms from the knowledge that "Boo" has finished his course and reaped his reward, no longer with us, but watching over us.
Perhaps, as Ms. Pearl (Willis) Said to Me, I say to you and all our Hampton High, Dunbar Gardens and Garden City Families and friends: "Miss Me, But Let Me Go!!"
May GOD Continue to Bless and Comfort You and Keep You Safe in the Arms of JESUS!!

To the Ford Family:
The world has lost a wonderful human being and the world will never be the same. The first time I met Boo was through my husband, Lester Reed, at Pat Paige's funeral. I knew at that very moment that this guy was a special person and friend to Lester. I could see and feel the joy and love in his eyes and smiles when he was around his classmates. He immediately embraced me with kindness and warmth as if I was a part of his Hampton High School Class. I did not know him for a long time, but I am so glad that he came by my way. Keep loving when love is most difficult. Keep loving when you have no strength. Keep loving because Jesus loves you in good times and bad on mountain tops and in valleys. When all else fails, keep on loving.

Wow; you keep wanting to say, it can't be true. Not Boo! Didn't he just respond to our email messages; wasn't it just a while back you ran into him on the street and he called you by your full name :):), not just your first name, but your full name, as he did in school. You’d stop, without turning around, fall out laughing, and respond “Boo Ford”. To Peggy, Sydney, Carlyse, and Archie, we pray for your comfort, peace, understanding and assurance in Christ Jesus. Know that if Boo is special to all of us, he is even more so to Christ. He has called Boo Ford, by his full name, to his next assignment. I'm confident the Lord can say "well done, my good and faithful servant, in you I’m well pleased." Warmest Blessings! (Hampton High class of 1971)

My heart skipped several beats after hearing my dear friend Boo had passed. I will always remember the fun times at George Wythe, Hampton High and even when Boo visited VSC during his famous "fall". I will always remember the many games and dances where he was the center of attraction. Now, he is the center of attraction in God's eyes and He is taking care of Boo. May God continue to bless your family during this very difficult time. I will truly miss Boo.

Carlyse, Archie, Peggy, Sidney and Ford Family:
Words cannot express how our family is feeling about the loss of Boo. He was our family and we will miss him very much especially his smile. Know that He is in a better place now and he can rest. God do not make mistakes although we wonder why. God bless and we will keep all of you in our prayers.
Love you,
Cousin Loretta and Family....

Please accept my deepest smypathy and heartfelt prayers, I had known "BOO" ever since I was a young girl visiting my grandparents on Maryland Ave & from there thru our school years, "AUF/SUPERLATIVES" and being a good friend that was always a pleasure to be around. The memories of "BOO" will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is walking with the LORD now, still flashing that wonderful smile that we all remember. Be Blessed.

Dear Archie Ford and Family,
My sincerest, heartfelt condolences to you in your time of loss. May you somehow take comfort in having shared a lifetime with your beloved "Boo," and in knowing that your friends and classmates share your pain. Truly the storms of life are raging, but what a friend we have in Jesus! May He hold you in His everlasting arms and carry you through this season of grief.

I don't remember meeting Boo; he's just always been a part of my life. I spent alot of time on Maryland Ave.
A voice of reason, a calming force, a great conversation, and a heck-of-a good time... everything was better, everything was cool when Boo was around.
I will miss my lifelong friend. He's with Rodney now; In Glory!
My prayers are with the family. God will
provide.

Dear Peggy, Sydney, Archie and Collise
My heart goes out to you and words just can't express how sorry I am. I pray the peace of God upon your family right now in this difficult time and that His grace and mercy will see you through. There are so many wonderful memories I have of the times we shared, the laughs we had and Boo babysitting Columbo, the doberman.
Boo was loved by many and will be missed by all.

To the Ford Family:
I was shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Thomas "Boo" Ford. Boo was someone that I admired and respected since our days growing up in Dunbar Gardens and Garden City. I could always count on seeing Boo whenever a High School football team from Hampton played for the State Championship. Boo will certainly be missed, but take comfort in knowing that he is being reunited with the Heavenly Father. Boo was a true Champion. Stay strong and keep the Faith!

I am extremely saddened to hear about the passing of my "roomie" Boo because although he had some health concerns he was going about it the right way, going to the doctor, getting treated and following doctors orders. The world is a little less friendly place without Boo around. He was a great friend who never complained about things going on in his life. He just took it in stride. My heart goes out to Sydney, Peggy and the Ford family. He will be sorely missed.

To the Ford Family:
Naturally Ford's passing was a shock to everyone here a Howard University Hospital, however we take comfort in knowing that God does not error and he is resting in a better place. I will personally miss Ford's visits to my office and our conversations in the cafeteria reminising about the glory days of the CIAA and exspecially the rivalry between Va. Union and Norfolk State (my school). If nothing else Ford enjoyed life and made those with whom he communicated with feel comfortable and excited about the joys of life. Everyone here at HUH and especially the many patients who he helped to recover from their social ills, will truly miss him. Take comfort in knowing that he enjoyed his short time here with us. We will keep you in our prayers.

To the family I sent my deepest condolences to you, Boo was a good friend of mine back when we were at Hampton Hgh, and hanging out on Shell Rd. Didn't see him much, but I'm always thinking of him when comes to football. I will miss him.

Boo was very atheletic. He was often the smallest guy out there when we played football on the field at Greenbriar Elementary School. I will never forget those fun times that I had growing up with him in our old neighborhood better known as Dunbar Garden. I would occasionally stop by to visit him and his family when I lived in the Washington Metropolitan Area. May God provide the family and friends of Thomas "Boo" Ford the strength that they need during their time of bereavement.
