Bonifacio Chinea Obituary

DENDRON - Bonifacio "Boni" Chinea, 71, died in his home in Dendron, Va., on Thursday, Sept. 25, after a long illness.
Boni was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on June 5, 1937, to the late Juan and Margarita Chinea.
Boni had a strong work ethic, and after retirement spent all of his time working around his home and helping others. He was a good friend and neighbor to many and would always stop what he was doing to help a friend in need.
Boni leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christine, who was the love of his life and his constant companion for 36 years. He also is survived by a large extended family, including brothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, and a caring friend, Eddie Grimes, all of whom will miss his presence in this world, but have much love and many special memories to hold on to until they see him again.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Peninsula Cancer Institute and to the Sentara Hospice workers.
A funeral service, celebrating the life, he lived will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald A. Ellis and the Rev. Morris Randall officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family is receiving friends at his mother-in-law's, 5470 Olde Towne Road and family and friends will assemble at the same address by noon on Wednesday. Mr. Chinea may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) in the funeral home. Professional service entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Va., 757-229-3011.
