Dorothy O'Neil Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH - With her daughters by her side, Dorothy Bosman O'Neil, died peacefully at her home Saturday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2008.
Born in Norfolk, Va., in 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Copperthite Bosman, and graduated from Maury High School. Her husband, John Ritchie "Jack" O'Neil and their son, John Ritchie O'Neil III, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Leslie Talton and husband, Dennis, of Virginia Beach, and Holly Rink and husband, Christopher, of Virginia Beach; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Talton, Caitlin Talton, Colleen Rink and Juliann Rink.
Jack's "Lover girl" will be remembered for her elegance, warmth and generosity.
Proud to be a Navy wife to a career aviator, Dorothy was a longtime member of the Catholic congregation of the Naval Amphibious Base Chapel at Little Creek, a treasurer of the LYNSTOCO investment club, and a member of the Seaweed Circle of the Virginia Beach City Union of the King's Daughters and Sons.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Father James Parke officiating. Memorial donations may be offered to the Lymphoma Leukemia Association or to your favorite charity.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers and Odyssey Hospice for the loving comfort they gave to Dorothy. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Hello Leslie and Holly, So sorry to hear about your mom. Last time I saw her and Jack was about 14 years ago, at my wedding. She had the best sense of humor and was a perfect match for your dad. I'm glad she had a good long life.
Fondly,
Polly Dickson (daughter of Mary, Jack's cousin)
