To my Godfather Tom:
How does an adopted goddaughter say "goodbye" to her godfather? So many days as a young girl I stayed with you. You have watched me grow into the adult that I am today. You always wanted to know how I'm doing and adjusting to motherhood. I know that you are in a better place as the almighty God has chosen you as a "rose" in his heavenly garden. I thank you for being there for me. You are certainly due your eternal rest. I will continue to be a "big sister" to TJ, Jr. and Monica. I'm sure Nikki and Nya will do the same. The twins and I will miss you dearly. Until we meet again...I love you.

"How do I say goodbye to what we shared? To the good times that made us laugh and made us sad. I thought we'd get to see tomorrow but tomorrow has gone away, so it's quite hard for me to say goodbye to yesterday." My heart is saddened; I have lost a great friend who was always there in my time of need. I thank GOD for the opportunity to have shared his life, good and bad, and that he found me worthy to confide in me and that I was able to assist in whatever way he requested. But I'm not going to shed any tears because I am rejoicing: my dear friend has found peace at last for his weary soul. Tom, may HIS peace be with you until we meet again. I love you and I'm sad I won't be able to attend the service but I can hold on to the memory of our last conversation together in Newport News Convocation Sunday and that I was able to see your face, make you smile and give you a big hug and kiss. Until then... Love, Mary T.
