Jessie Truslow Obituary
He was a self employed carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union, #235, Newport News. He was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church.
Jessie is survived by his wife of nine years, Jennifer M. Truslow; and two daughters, Chassidy and Charridy; and son, Chad; his mother, Luanne Truslow Winfree and her husband, David, of Newport News; his father, Jessie R. "Randy" Truslow of Afton, Va.; maternal grandmother, Catherine Latimer of Smithfield; paternal grandparents, Jesse and Peggy Truslow of Afton, Va; his sister, Jessica Truslow Proffitt, and her son, Gabriel, of Newport News; and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Smithfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in Colonial Funeral Home.

My heart and tears are with all of you. As his mother in law, I feel just as lost as you the family. Jennifer, I know that Jessie loved you with all that he had within him. Chassidy, Charridy and Chad, he truly worshipped you. Always remember that your daddy will always be in your heart. He is your guardian Angel to watch over you. Your daddy is in Gods hands now and is free to be your angel in light. Louanne, there are no words of comfort that I can give or say to you. Jessie is in total peace now. Jessica, he as your brother and uncle to your son, all he can give you and him are fond memories as when he was a much younger boy. No amount of tears will bring him back, but we will have the memories he left behind. As We stick together, the harsh times will lessen and the true love of God will beam through as his blessing. I love all of you.
